Gorkde
I tried defragging my disk which worked somewhat. But he never defragmented all files. Then I set the settings to move files to the end of disk but mysteriously he did finish after maybe one minute and nothing changed. I then tried multiple time selecting the file manually and moving it by rightclick and move. Same result. Then I tried the Debug option. He did the same but created a 5.8GB large txt file that I couldn't open with notepad or notepad++ because of the size. (WHAT? REALLY!) The file I asked him to move is about 158GB large and has no ending like ".exe" or similar. Also I checked the disk for errors and there aren't any. So in essence he did stop moving that file and as well not all other files (this one as well) were'nt defragmented. Like if he rashed in the middle but the window was still open. Just the little "File move %" window dissapeared. He doesn't even defrag all if I deactivate moving that file. As if he crashes because of the filesize once he stumbles upon that file. Btw. my hard drive I tried to defrag and/or move the file on has 335GB / 230GB used / 105GB free space.
Moderators Andavari Posted June 6, 2017 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2017 How many file fragments is it stating for that 158 GB file? If for instance the file is in 2 or whatever amount of fragments you may not gain any performance by having it be defragmented (so perhaps that's why it's being skipped and left alone). Also defragmenting a 158 GB file will take a very long time and possibly stress your hard disk.
Gorkde
It has only 3 fragments but I want it at the end of the disk which isn't working. Same for another large file.
Gorkde
Any Idea what to do? Anything I should do for bug reporting? Anything at all?
