AliceZ
I just installed CC ver 525 on my Win 10 laptop. I ran a scan and it said it listed files to be removed including 5MB for IE temp internet files. When it finished it said files were deleted. I ran scan again and the IE history 5MB temporary internet files were still there. What is going on with IE these past few months? I have been using CC for many, many years and never a problem and now it seems there have been problems with the past several updated versions and IE temp internet files.. I am so confused I don't know what to do now.
Moderators mta Posted December 21, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2016 MS changed IE and the way it stores cookies and the like. Piriform has made changes to CC to cover those changes. now IE, and any IE related task, has to be closed. also check programs like Defender, Skype, Live Mail and whatever other MS software there is running, as they may also need to be closed. Moderators Andavari Posted December 21, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 21, 2016 From my experience Win10 will immediately download "needed" files after they're cleaned, such as those news feeds, weather, etc., you just have to expect it's going to add those cache/Temporary Internet Files back if you have certain Windows features or apps enabled. AliceZ
Before I run CC I have closed all my IE, FF, etc. and all my apps have been closed. Nothing is open. Am I the only one with this problem?
Moderators mta Posted December 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2016 even though you may have closed them Alice, they or something related, may still be running. Task Manager will confirm that. if still no luck, use the inbuilt IE browser cleaner. try running CC with the PC in Safe Mode, if it cleans everything as expected from that mode, than that indicates something is running in normal mode that is causing your grief. over in another current thread, there is talk of MS Search indexing causing some issues in this matter and stopping that process helped.
