shagbark
Recuva 1.52 and 1.53 both try to read my (empty) 3.5" floppy drive about once every minute during a scan of any hard drive. To deep-scan a 4G hard drive takes 2 days, and I fear this continual grinding of my 3.5" drive will destroy my drive and keep me awake.
Moderators mta Posted September 2, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2016 just to get you over this temporary, one-off hurdle, while you use Recuva, why not physically disconnect it internally, or disable it through the BOIS? Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators Andavari Posted September 2, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2016 For me it only does that once per-scan, yet even that is still annoying and multiple programs access it including every anti-virus I've ever used. Like mta stated you can disable the floppy drive in the BIOS, and in this day and age they aren't very useful.

Yes, thanks. I am still reporting it as a bug, though.
