Improve duplicate check save to text file option ...

In 5.15.5551 after running a duplicate check, I excluded several folders and then did a "Save to Text File".

 

Save to Text could be improved with these extra pieces of information and options

• Optionally do NOT write the line of dashes. This would also make the saved file much smaller!
• Add a number for each duplicate set. If there are 4 duplicates, all four would get the same number
• Able to export / import the Exclude locations

Since all fields in the written text file are tab delimited, it's very easy to import into Excel, after the dashed lines are removed. It's easy to remove them with a regular expression (\r\n) and the matching dash string, but that's a little too technical for most users.

 

Adding a number for each duplicate set would make it very easy to do various data sorts in Excel, by location, by file name, and by duplicate set number. While it's possible to do this with a macro in Excel, again, it's a little too technical for most users.
