Peter Sutcliffe
Will ccleaner automatically delete index.dat files associated with Google? How can I set that up? Thank you
Moderators mta Posted December 14, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 14, 2015 Hi Peter and welcome, I believe index.dat files are not deleted but 'cleansed' internally. The end result is the same, the file has no 'history'. If you do want what you say to happen, you'll have to setup an INCLUDE in CC. But I didn't think Google Chrome uses index.dat whereas IE does. I'm not sure if you use Chrome or just mean general searching when you say Google. You have two options, whatever browser you are using, to either use that browser's internal settings to clean your history, temp files etc. (or run the browser in private mode) or use CC's default settings which have always cleaned up browser related activities. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
