joe935
I think this just happened with the latest update to CCleaner 4.18.4844. CCleaner does not even open when "Run CCleaner" is clicked on in Recycle bin menu. OS Windows 8.1.1 64-bit PC Dont force it, Use a bigger Hammer! Moderators Andavari Posted October 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Something to try: 1. Open CCleaner. 2. Go into: Options -> Settings 3. Untick/disable the two items show within the blue box in the screenshot below (click the screenshot image to enlarge it): 4. Now tick/enable those two items and see if they work correctly now by right clicking the Recycle Bin and using both of them. If they don't work: 1. Untick/disable them again. 2. Restart your computer. 3. Tick/enable them again and see if they work. If none of the above works you may need to uninstall CCleaner, and then reinstall it. joe935
Andavari, I must beg your forgiveness. It seems that CCleaner is running, BUT so fast that the Systray icon never appears but CCleaner has done its job when run from Recycle bin.I have one question though:Is there a way to save the "cookies to keep" List before uninstalling CCleaner? Dont force it, Use a bigger Hammer!

I have one question though: Is there a way to save the "cookies to keep" List before uninstalling CCleaner? Yes, set ccleaner to save settings in ini file, Then exit ccleaner, Then copy or move the ini file from the ccleaner folder In this file are all your settings and cookies to keep, in plain text ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
