AliceZ
I just downloaded/installed CCleaner 418 and got a pop-up stating the following: "CCleaner is now monitoring your computer and will let you know when it needs cleaning." How do I disable this feature on the Slim version 418?

I use the Slim version.
Moderators Nergal Posted September 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2014 Slim version has nothing to do with the ccleaner version itself, slim is referencing the fact the installer isn't bundled with Google-Product bundleware ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. AliceZ
I understand but I just wanted to know "How I would I know if the monitoring has stopped (been disabled) and is not continuously running in the background?" After doing what Hazelnut suggested,
Moderators Nergal Posted September 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2014 If there's a ccleaner icon in your system tray then it is still running (also check your task manager) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. AliceZ
The CC icon in lower right of the screen has disappeared. I presume that indicates the CC monitoring is no longer 'running in background.'
Moderators Nergal Posted September 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2014 Make sure it disappeared and didn't just move to the hodden icons (the ones under the arrow that don't always show on desktop) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. AliceZ
No, I do not see it when I open the 'hidden' icons. Also, not in Windows Task Manager / Applications.
