Six alternatives to WhatsApp now that it belongs to Facebook

http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/feb/20/six-alternatives-whatsapp-facebook

As WhatsApp is based on phone numbers rather than usernames, Facebook has in effect just bought a list of hundreds of millions of phone numbers.

“Currently, WhatsApp can change terms and conditions at any time, without notifying users, which many people who use this service aren’t aware of. Meanwhile, Facebook already has a very broad copyright license on people’s content and already shares your data with many other services,”

Tried whatsapp, decided I didn't need yet another application for messaging. Many suspect facebook's purchase is motivated by the recent purchase of Viber

On second though I would go for the aircraft carrier,  It can make water, can fish for food and sail all round the world with the added bonus people can come and visit as they please.

Yeah the comments are wothy for a reading.

I think if people have to stop and ask the question "What's a Whatsapp?" it's probably not worth $19 billion. But that's what happens when arrogant little ***** are allowed to gamble with other people's money.

I really think the question we rather should ask our self is,

was it for the Application (and company, code, workers) OR for the Information ( and company, code, workers) that the company gathered from its users worth $19 billion ?

I think it is all about the information.
