XCTrackTko007
I've been looking into memory/ram cleaners and I can't seem to find any reliable "quality" freeware programs. If you know of or have used any good ones I would really appreciate any recommendations!
kroozer
Since RAM is volatile, your RAM is cleared when you reboot or shutdown your computer. Nothing can be retrieved. All data is gone forever.

XCTrackTko007
cleanmem might be of interest to you. http://www.pcwintech.com/cleanmem Though I must say I am perplexed by your decision to register for the piriform forums for the express purpose of asking a question unrelated to any piriform software whatsoever? Thanks Winapp2.ini! I have been using Piriform's CCleaner, Defraggler, and Speccy for quite some time now but seeing that piriform doesn't have any software that cleans memory and seeing that I couldn't find one, I decided to ask [=
Moderators DennisD Posted November 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted November 24, 2013 Just to expand on Winapp's post above, and for clarity, folk can register, ask questions and join in the forum discussions without ever asking a question about Piriform software. This is firstly a Piriform support forum, but it is also a "Community Forum" which means you can come here with absolutely any problem you may have on general computer issues and the members will do their best to help. Your problem does not have to be Piriform software related. This does not mean of course that you can ask for help with software similar to, or competing with Piriform software. (That's a no-brainer and should go without saying). So anyone reading this forum can come here for general help and we'll do our best to provide it. We're always happy to welcome new members in the spirit of a "Community Forum", and always look forward to new members becoming regular members. Willy2
CLEANMEM doesn't clean the memory, it reduces memory usage of programs running. And that allows the file cache (in the "free" part of the memory) to grow more. Windows fills that cache with files the user frequently uses. Then Windows doesn't need to retrieve those files from the harddisk which is relatively/very slow, in comparison with movements in the memory itself. See e.g.: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/windows-7-memory-usage-whats-the-best-way-to-measure/1786 System setup: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/gcNzIPEjEb0B2khOOBVCHPc A discussion always stimulates the braincells !!!
