JohnBurns
Can someone please tell me what this is all about - over in Wilder's Security Forums is a post that says DON'T use the latest version of Speccy - it will "hammer" your disk big time! I just updated it and now I am afraid to use it...... http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=353721
Moderators Nergal Posted September 24, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 24, 2013 I think somebody is trolling us, or downloaded it from somewhere other than approved sources, speccy is no different in its current form than it has ever been. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Alan_B
At 10:34 there was a post stating Upon investigation the large file is created when the /debug mode is on and the log file became a few hundred MB whilst monitoring a large number of drives overnight. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
