Hi

I have an HTC One X and want to recover some files, but Recuva doesnt 'see' the phone as a storage device even though Windows does.

The problem I have is that duing cut and paste Windows or the phone lost the files. They didnt move and no longer appear on the phone either through the phone or windows explorer.

Can anyone help.

Thanks in advance.

yup that's showing up as a media transfer device. Recuva can only work on mounted (drive letter assigned) devices.

this is gotten HTC ONE V but the principle is this same

when given the choice choose disk drive

all the recovery software I have tried does not appear to work with MTP connections.

I read that switching disk drive\MTP modes was possible with HTC One X running Android 4.0 firmware but HTC removed it in 4.1.
