kyoden
With the new Defraggler 2.12 I am no longer able to do a full file defrag by typing df c:\ /s into the command line. This has worked several years before. I would use this to defrag an entire drive without having Defraggler move files around, basically making all files contiguous only and disregarding freespace.. I found this more effective than the Quick Defrag which skips files that have fragments larger than 50MB. Please advise.
Moderators Nergal Posted December 15, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 15, 2012 I can Confirm that there seems to be a difference between CMD line 2.11 and 2.12 2.11 - above command line works 2.12 - above command line does not work ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators mta Posted December 15, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 15, 2012 so it's a bug then? or they have discontinued the /s switch. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators Nergal Posted December 16, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 16, 2012 unsure wait for development staff to confirm deny however the /s is only for subfolders so if you aren't defraggler a folder (i.e DF.exe "C:\program files\" /S the switch is redundant (doing this does work in 2.12) df.exe c: should do the exact same thing, I don't think it's running a quickdefrag as there is a command switch for quickdefrag ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
