Fluffy
Hello Peeps I`m Wondering if any one can help by recommending some simple CD cover maker software. I`m wanting to create my own cd cover for a standard plastic cd case, not for the actual cd. I`ve googled it and am a bit overwhelmed by the different software on offer and not sure to download any as some look a bit dodgy !and I couldn`t find anything in freeware rebooted..So if any one has used some software and likes it I would welcome your opinion and comments or if you have managed to manipulate your printer to print the size (12cm X 12cm) that would be helpful too. I`m running on XP and I don`t have photoshop. Fluffy

Moderators Andavari Posted December 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2012 Look on SourceForge.net for a no cost one, I know there's some free alternatives on there.
Moderators mta Posted December 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2012 doesn't Word have an Avery label template that prints Jewel box covers? Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators DennisD Posted December 7, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 7, 2012 Hi Fluff. I haven't ever printed a CD or DVD cover, but it took me 5 minutes to download, run, and print out this cover using the artwork from one of my MP3 album folders. Ignore the quality of the print, it's an old Epsom Stylus Colour 480 which I haven't used for ages. Hence the lines. I'm just pointing out how quick it was, and the default size fit perfect. It has all the options re back front etc etc., and it's small, portable, and free. Worth a try, and you'll soon find out if it prints to the quality you need. DVD Slim Free Portable 2.6.0.4: If it's no good, just bin it. EDIT: Forgot I had the printer set to black as I only do letters these days. Not the programs fault. Fluffy
Hello ! sorry for the delay in replying to all who replied to me ! I was getting my cd list together and was using CDBurnerXP...well on the tool bar at the top I found a little printer icon that saidwhen clicked on "Print a cover" !!!!!Sorry if this sounds as if I hadn`t tried to find a way of printing before asking for help, but cdburner xp diidn`t really let you know it had an option for this. So I would like to thank you for replying and helping me and Dennis I have now found out your a fan of Amy Macdonald !!! I just love her song "This is the life" !! login123
doesn't Word have an Avery label template that prints Jewel box covers? Yes they do, as well as a standalone version. I have used the standalone version. Been a couple of years. You have to register to download it. It is a big download, about 94 mb, and I remember it as an "intrusive" installation. But it makes good labels. Don't remember if the office version actually works w/ office 97 or not . . . website doesn't say so but I think so. Ofc 97 is what i use for state of the art document crafting. The standalone is here: http://www.avery.com...0002118140aRCRD and the office version is here: http://www.avery.com...dingpage-wizard Looks like you are fixed up OK by now, but thats my 2 cents worth. As my friend Dennis (AKA "Shiv") said, if it's no good just bin it. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
Moderators Andavari Posted December 11, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2012 It is a big download, about 94 mb, and I remember it as an "intrusive" installation. I remember when they stopped giving it away as freeware perhaps ten or so years ago so I never bothered looking into them again, at the size it is to get the standalone they can keep it in my opinion since coupled with the fact their sticker labels are overpriced rubbish that have very poor adhesive quality. Moderators DennisD Posted December 11, 2012 Moderators Share Posted December 11, 2012 So I would like to thank you for replying and helping me and Dennis I have now found out your a fan of Amy Macdonald !!!I just love her song "This is the life" !! My secrets out fluff. She's a first rate singer/songwriter who doesn't have to take her clothes off to sell records. She can fill live venues by just standing there with a guitar strung over her shoulders, and singing her own stuff. "Troubled Soul" and "Give It All Up", both from her "Curious Thing" album are two of my favourites, although there isn't a bad track on that album. Pleased you got sorted out. Apologies are due, I thought that was free stuff. The version I used was. I gave it up on Avery anyway, just made a ms word document that was actually a template with correctly sized text boxes. Then used those to create home made jewell case inserts. Had a LOT of trouble with labelled CDs DVDs being out of balance. I'm not saying the current version on their site is or isn't freeware, I didn't look any further into it after being horrified by the sheer download size for what should be a "simple" labeling program just knowing it would be a crapfest of install files scattered everywhere and possibly tons of registry entries. Super Fast
Here is a very basic & free one -> http://www.softpedia...shot-51021.html Also, there is -> http://www.freewaref...programid=25052 Might as well throw this one in, since it is cool as well -> http://www.nodesoft.com/coverprinter Have also tried UndercoverXP & DVD Slim sometime perhaps a few years back. I don't just base it on that. I base it on functionality/ease of use/likeability. Then, I check if I really need those language files/uninstaller.dat/uninstaller.exe (or sometimes unins000 or similar), readme.text etc. I check what the bare minimum is that it will run without & still retain full functionality. It is also possible they sometimes bundle toolbars/other features/trial programs that waste space. I check them out & then if they fail, I bin them.
