MikeP_UK
In CCleaner 3.24.1850 an Analyse scan reports a certain amount of files to be deleted, but when the Delete is run the resultant report shows a much smaller amount was removed and there is rarely anything remaining found by a second Analyse run! Example, I ran Analyse this morning and it reports 36.3 Mb to be removed, mostly in the System area. I ran Delete and it removed 3.24 Mb only and nothing from the System area! A rerun of Analyse showed there was nothing left to remove! Why is it so inaccurate and misleading? The amount to be deleted found by Analyse should be exactly the same as that actually deleted and reported by Delete.

Moderators hazelnut Posted November 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2012 Well spotted Mike ! Thank you for taking the time to report the bug. Too early to say it is a bug. Many factors which need to be checked first. @Mike What operating system and service pack are you using? Do you have only delete temp files older than 24 hours ticked in ccleaner options/advanced? Moderators Nergal Posted November 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2012 can you tell us maybe which section is showing less (for instance if it is windows temporary files, then as hazelnut stated it may be that option) ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
