darkindustry
It may be a small bug.. but it's pretty annoying . When I click the "issues" button, put a check mark on "File Integrity" and "Start Menu Shortcuts", Click on "Scan for Issues", then on "Fix Selected Issues", and when the popup window comes up click "Fix all selected issues"; I end up with a missing "Windows Update" Icon. This would probably be a pretty quick fix to make it so it doesn't delete that icon from the startmenu when you click "Fix All Issues" after scan. I know that the program has the option to go through each issue and pick which ones you would want to fix.. but this would probably not be logistacally logical to do when you have 444+ issues to go through like I did Cheers!undefined
Moderators Andavari Posted January 4, 2006 Moderators Share Posted January 4, 2006 Here's how to restore it manually: 1. Open: C:\Windows\System32 2. Find the file named: wupdmgr.exe 3. Right click it and select: Send To > Desktop (create shortcut) 4. Rename the shortcut to: Windows Update 5. Drag the shortcut onto the start button 6. Delete the desktop shortcut 7. Done! If you're using the new Microsoft Update which is Windows Update and Office Update combined, and more, etc., it will automatically create a shortcut in Start Menu > Programs. You can then right click that shortcut and select 'Pin to Start menu'
