Moondoggy
When I run CCleaner on my XP Pro laptop it says that it removed all cookies but if I go into options/Cookies it's still showing a long list of cookies to delete. Is this a known issue or is there a way around this as I would really like to clean up this list of cookies. Note that since it's XP I'm running IE8 and my version of CCleaner is either the current version or one back as I try to keep it up to date at all times. Moderators hazelnut Posted May 29, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2012 If you click once on one of these cookies to highlight it and then look to the bottom left of the column what icon shows for the cookie? IE or a red F for flash? If it's a flash cookie make sure that you have adobe flash player ticked under the ccleaner applications list. Also when you open the ccleaner program look to the top left it says your system specs and ccleaner version number. Moderators Nergal Posted May 29, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 29, 2012 As a visual aid to the Cookie Identifier ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moondoggy
Thank you for the assistance. The icon for all of the cookies was Google Chrome. I verified that the Chrome cookies checkbox was un-checked so I checked it and CCleaner worked this time.
