Moderators Nergal Posted January 25, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 25, 2012 Winsys (Windows Tab) Added %WinDir%\Performance\WinSAT|winsat.log to Windows Log file entry ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. AlpineKid
If this question is in the wrong place I am sorry. How does CCleaner compare to System Mechanic by iolo technologies, LLC?? I am not impressed with System Mechanic??
Moderators Nergal Posted January 27, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 27, 2012 As this is the official website for ccleaner we usually will not field comparison questions (after all we arrrrrrrre kinda biased ) however I quite like this answer from an old forum post by one of our other moderators (please don't reopen the old forum threads by posting in them, just read them) Better is a user defined choice. However I will tell you this; CCleaner is safer. I say this because I've seen System Mechanic's registry cleaner destroy the system registry on some systems by nearly removing all of it when only a few "invalid" references it found were removed. Here's another http://forum.pirifor...showtopic=31515 and of course there's a fair amount of information you can find if you google search ccleaner vs system mechanic ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
