Checked again now -- still cleaning them. Maybe another member who's experienced this issue will suggest a fix.

Alan_B
I hate Adobe, so years ago I added this to "Includes" and they now appear in my CCleaner.ini as Include1=PATH|%APPDATA%\Adobe\Flash Player\AssetCache\|*.*|RECURSE Include2=PATH|%APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player\|*.*|RECURSE That gets rid of so much unwanted junk, including some files that each exceed 100 kBytes Regretably one site that used to remember me is now unable to remember me. I cleaned all cookies and logged in to the site and out again. I returned and it remembered me, and I logged out again. I had several new cookies, none of which came from the site. With Notepad I inspected the contents of the "anonymous" settings.sol and saw the name of my site. I cleaned that cookie and again my chosen site could not remember me. The idiots in charge had changed from using a site specific "proper" Firefox cookie to Adobe Trash. I formally protested and they have promised a review and a response later this month. This is the wretched cookie which I had been cleaning :- C:\Users\Alan\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\settings.sol To temporarily preserve the idiots memory I added this "exclude" Exclude1=FILE|C:\Users\Alan\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\|settings.sol. Then I could clean cookies and settings.sol survived and the idiots site was able to remember me. After that I noticed that after running CCleaner I could Analyze and some cookies survived. They had been appended to "global" settings.sol. The idiots still lose their memory, because it is not reserved for them and many other sites throw in a bit more, probably as per session cookies. I also see my microphone settings get a mention It is currently only 564 bytes in size, and although I have not recently cleaned it, my site's name is no longer present and my site no longer remembers me. Settings.sol now commences with settings gain @I echosuppression defaultmicrophone defaultcamera defaultklimit @Y defaultalways windowlessDisable autoUpdateDisabled autoUpdateDefaultUpdated autoUpdateInterval @ I am guessing that Settings.sol gets "cleaned" by fresh "settings", possibly on a reboot or as a result of my "speakers" volume control in the notification tray. I have decided that this specific exclude does not preserve what I want, so the exclude is going. Good bye settings.sol, good bye idiotic site
Moderators Nergal Posted January 2, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2012 The Only way to clear that list of sites (cookies are deleted the site names are not) is to completly delete the settings.sol which is fine as long as you don't mind also losing custom settings like default max size and camera/microphone settings ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
