All I use is Firefox, my wife is an IE fan. For some reason, some sites she goes to. Do not work right on IE 10 and we have IE 11 just around the corner too. I will try out Chrome once they release a stable version with the new engine.

I will try out Chrome once they release a stable version with the new engine.

It has some crash happy clones. Funny I've been using Firefox Portable v19.0, and now v20.0 for a few days and not one crash, while Comodo Dragon on the other hand (and I do like Dragon except for its absurd memory usage) is a demolition derby browser and has crashed several times. Hence the reason to regularly backup browser profiles, etc., just in case the profiles can't survive a crash.

1. Close Firefox then backup your whole profile, or just create a backup copy of your prefs.js file just in case you mess up changing things there's an easy way to quickly undo everything, and then...

2. Open Firefox, right-click the menu, and choose: Customize

3. You can now drag 'n' drop/move items where you want them.

I kind of preferred the old download manager, primarily because I have a minimal UI going (the exception being my bookmarks bar which I always have showing), so I removed the download panel arrow. I access the downloads with CTRL J but now ithere's a lot more in the new panel than I think needs to be.

I think you can enable to old panel in about:config but I'm not certain.

I kind of wish I could just get rid of the left pane in the new panel.

about:config > browser.download.useToolkitUI > toggle

But that may be removed in future releases

I had to move the new download arrow, kept clicking that instead of the home button out of habbit

Oh okay. Release notes for v20.0.1 https://www.mozilla....1/releasenotes/

I've noticed that since v20 I can't keep just my browsing history; If it's ticked, it'll also rememeber/keep download history (which I don't need to be remembered). :i

Is there some option in about:config to not to keep download history and only the browsing history?

Mozilla keep on breaking Firefox by fixing things that are not broken - just because they want to change for the sake of changing.

At around Firefox 8 I tried Palemoon Portable and am loving it.

I am now using the installed version of Palemoon as my main browser,

and the Portable version as a backup with a separate profile.

I eradicated Mozilla Firefox from my system over a year ago - no regrets.

Palemoon 20.01 is based on Firefox, but the developer has tamed the erratic variations and hazards of Firefox.

Why not sample the delights of Palemoon Portable ?

Or if you are more bold than I was use the installed version which can coexist with Firefox.

There is excellent help available on their forum

There is a forum topic on translations here :-

http://forum.palemoon.org/viewforum.php?f=30&sid=e9b27e86f5f76ea907bffadd8ee1df69

I assume that Firefox translations are generally supported and Palemoon has adaptations to suit its GUI.

i.e. a Palemoon has translations for its GUI features that differ from Firefox.

WARNING

I am not certain of the latest status,

but the previous version had some problem if languages packs were included WITH the initial installation,

and it was better to install with standard English and after installation to add the language pack.

You will find more information in other sections of the Palemoon forum,

I have to close now - preparing for Church.

Does anyone know if there's a tweak/fix for my "problem" with browsing history/download history?

Are you wanting to adjust the privacy cleaning capability within Firefox ?

Is a suitable tweak to instead use CCleaner with the Downloads box checked ?
