jazzz
I have installed ccleaner in several computers and notebooks and this is the first time this happens... When running ccleaner the screen color depth changes automatically to 8 bits, then when I close ccleaner the color depth changes back to 32 bits, ccleaner does its tasks normally. This is a Toshiba notebook, windows 7 32 bits, nvidia graphics card, any idea?
Alan_B
Is this unique to CCleaner ? How about the other products from Piriform (Recuva, Defraggler, and Speccy) which may come from a common set of Application development software ? Do other Applications from other third party suppliers show similar effects ?
Moderators Nergal Posted November 28, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 28, 2011 If no other appsshow similar effects right click the ccleaner icon (the shortcut should be fine, but you may want to check both the shortcut and the exe file) choose properties go to the 2nd tab (compatibility) make sure nothing is clicked here ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. jazzz
It is fixed!, run in 256 colors was checked for the shorcut, I didn't know about the compatibility tab and wonder how that got checked... I guess the owner did it, the other apps were fine. So it was not too complicated after all, thank you Nergal.
