Super Fast
Would love if Speccy can read Windows event log files, in order to further troubleshoot a system. Thanks!
Moderators hazelnut Posted November 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 26, 2011 Don't understand Super Fast. You can just read them yourself ? Super Fast
True. But, I figured if it had the event log reader built in, you wouldn't even have to find the event logs. You can also find properties for the installed hardware, but Speccy makes it easier. I was figuring, if Speccy included an in-built log file reader, it would just be a step or two easier... Moderators hazelnut Posted November 27, 2011 Moderators Share Posted November 27, 2011 In my view then if a user is not capable of finding the event viewer logs he is unlikely to be able to interpret them. I think Speccy should be used for a machine's specifications and not looking at its error logs which are a totally different subject. Super Fast
Perhaps I should rephrase that a bit... By interpreter, I mean, simply add the function to show the content of a log file. The user would be responsible for interpreting it, but it would make it more convenient having a log file locator/reader directly integrated into Speccy, rather than hunting down the file.
