Can not figure out why the 1st option in Defraggler Options is grayed out? Would like to include Defraggler in my windows shell extensions ?

Anyone know what I have to do to enable shell extensions in Win 7 Pro 64bit ?

Thanks...TRinAZ

are your settings saved as ini file? If so this will disable shell extentions

This happens with mine too.

I moved the .ini settings file to the desktop before I tried loading Defraggler, & it was still greyed out.

So, I closed Defraggler & moved the .ini file back.

Although, mine is under XP vs his 7.

This is not the same as turning off the use ini option. However, I now feel stupid as the original poster's picture shows (quite clearly stupid Nergal) that they are not using ini file

If you move the .ini file from the folder, then when you launch Defraggler, it reverts to the default actions of saving things in the registry, unless a user rechecks the option to save to .ini.

Also, @ Winapp, yes, I am running it will Admin priviledges...

PROBLEM

- Defraggler v2.18 (Aug. 2014), Win7 64-bit

- The Defraggler context-menu is not integrated into Windows Explorer

(i.e. right click option on a file or folder does not show Defraggler menu options)

- Also, under Options->Advanced, the following item remains greyed out so it cannot be enabled:

[ ] Enable Shell Extension <--- can't check this on

SOLUTION

Simply re-install Defraggler and leave [x] Add Defraggler menus to Windows Explorer checked.

let's hope @TRinAz sees this and finally gets closure after nearly 3 years. :D
