Tr3bg0D
I won't even bother looking for pictures......How about an 8 Track tape and a Phillips Screwdriver? Hint...the screwdriver has to do with sound.
Moderators DennisD Posted September 26, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2011 I never had an eight track, but my mate did, and for a while it was the bees knees. Just a short while though. Dunno about the Phillips, and I won't google as that would spoil the mystery.
Tr3bg0D
That used to be a trick with 8-Tracks that they would constantly do....another hint. Believe it or not, I still have a new car radio which has an 8-Track player. It is sealed up in a box from when my car was new. I replaced the 8-track with a cassette. Moderators DennisD Posted September 26, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2011 LED calculators? I still remember having to wind my watch up, and then these things appeared on the market, cutting edge technology. LED Watches: Still dunno about the eight track, but I'm working on it. Without google.
Winapp2.ini
I remember the cassett, rewinding it manually. 8 track players - worst part was the middle when it switched over and the song would be interrupted by CLICK. It was always at the best part of the song too. That looks like my HS calculator (which didn't do calculus that well) that I still have collecting dust. 8 track players - worst part was the middle when it switched over and the song would be interrupted by CLICK. Winapp2.ini
All I can think of with a screwdriver is adjusting the belt in them, but I don't have enough experience with them to say for sure. Winapp2.ini
My experience with everything here except Cassetts (of which I had many as a kid) is limited to random tinkering I've done with the objects I've found in my house. I do have a Victrola somewhere in my house too though. . . . . winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Moderators DennisD Posted September 26, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2011 Did you have to get inside the cartridge to fix whatever. I remember taking the small screws out of a tape cassette if it snapped and the ends of the tape were inside. And then came the fiddly bit of splicing it back together again with Cellotape. Hours of fun could be had.
CTskifreak
I'm 21 - I don't personally remember rewinding a casset tape with a penicl, but I do remember them. I DO remember rewinding VCR tapes though. I love technological progress. AJ

Corona
I remember listening to Quadrophenia in my friends' car that had an 8-track player. Wow, they terribly butchered that album on 8-track. (I had the double LP at home.) I used to have a 1926 Victrola. Fun to play with.
