Guest Viki
Is there any way that CCleaner could be used to remove the XCP Rootkit being distributed by Sony? I know that this is probably an insane request... but, CCleaner is the most treasured piece of software that I have. (And, the most utilized.) Help with XCP removal would make this better than perfect... it would be magical. Prior to my finding this software my computer spent alot of time in the repair shop. Once I installed and familarized myself with your wonderful program, I have been able to keep my computer at home and running safely. Thank you and keep up the great work! Moderators hazelnut Posted December 3, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2005 Hi Viki, That was a really nice post about ccleaner! Moderators Andavari Posted December 3, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 3, 2005 If you're using Windows XP this months release of Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool will automatically deal with the Sony XCP Rootkit. Microsoft AntiSpyware 1.0.701 already deals with it!
