Moderators rridgely Posted September 10, 2011 Author Moderators Share Posted September 10, 2011 thanks for the advice Nergal. I took your advice and got the preware documentation. So far I have uber kernal and an adblocker installed. How big a difference does that bfq scheduler make in regards to speed and battery life? Moderators Nergal Posted September 11, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 11, 2011 rridgely I've begun on the quest to get a ubuntu running on my pad (running in an app card not dual boot but actually running both machine simultaniously) I've got it mostly working IT's Awesome, screenshots to come. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Super Fast
Probably an awesome deal, but I think I'd much rather save for the Ultrabook Intel is soon to release. Aluminum frame, almost 1/2 in think, no celeron processor allowed, no hdd allowed (ssd standard), 5 - 8 hr battery life, etc. Should be pretty awesome! Super Fast
Is there anything wrong with saying I would rather have an ultrabook than an HP touchpad? This is the lounge, isn't it? If u get it working, let me know! If I get one, I might try similar. I probably won't get one for a while, but I will keep it in mind. I plan to wait a few years till the hardware goes up in performance.

Watch your step please SuperFast. I pointed out the topic subject because you sometimes move away from what the thread is discussing. Moderators hazelnut Posted September 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted September 12, 2011 Nergal, I'm looking forward to the screenshots. Did you have to jump through many hoops to get Ubuntu running? Icedrake
I really wanted one of those things, but missed the sales by only a day. Unlucky me.
