Stephen
I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, dual heads, 8X AGP card that is going back. I'm looking for a replacement (AGP card) that will have essentially the same power draw, and that will play nice with Windows 7. Any suggestions? Does anyone know how the EVGA GeForce 6200 card compares to the 9800Pro in terms of performance?
redhawk
This table should help - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units NVIDIA have many different cards but for AGP the best ones would be series 6 or series 7 (8 and 9 are PCI-E only). When choosing a model number higher the 2nd digit the better the card's spec i.e. 6800 vs 6200. The 6200 is a good graphics card (I'm using one) but it's not really suitable for high performance games, of course a lot would depend on which games you want to play. If money wasn't an issue I would recommend the 6800 or a series 7 card with at least 256MB of RAM (for texture storage). Richard S.

The mobo requires an AGP Universal Graphics card, and is not compatible with the AGP 2x graphic cards. The 6200 is the only compatible card I've been able to find, unless I want to get a refurbished ATI 6800 Pro.
redhawk
Is there any difference between the 6200 and 6800GT that would make the 6800 incompatible with your motherboard?? Richard S.

The part that plugs into the mobo is different.
Moderators rridgely Posted July 26, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 26, 2011 Newegg has a couple of old agp cards still: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139053 HD3450 They had a few for $30 but I think the HD3000 series cards can still use the newest ati drives, which means windows 7 should work just fine. They had a HD4000 but it was $70, I'd buy a new motherboard/cpu first as it would have graphics about as good or better.

The HD3450 pins on the bottom, where in plugs into the mobo, don't fit my mobo. They are laid out differently than the 9800 pro.
