Compumind 0
Hope Speccy7/64 would be updated soon, as it crashes Notebook every time Hi Traveller: We need a bit more information... If you are running Windows 7 - Have you updated to SP1? If not, kindly do so. Then cleanly uninstall the version on your computer, reboot and re-install the current version at this site. Let us know if this corrects the issue. TIA
Moderators Nergal 0 Posted July 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 22, 2011 Then cleanly uninstall the version on your computer, reboot and re-install the current version at this site. To avoid confusion he means uninstall the Speccy (not the Windows or service pack) before any uninstalling (which is a drastic first step unless you did not get speccy from the piriform or filehippo site), are you running speccy.exe or speccy64.exe What occurs on the crash? does just the program crash? or does windows? if windows crashes do you get a BSOD? once you answer these questions we can aid you better. Compumind 0
Hi Nergal: Where is the x64 version of Speccy? I don't see it on the Speccy Downloads Page or under Builds. Is it built into the install routine? Bit confused here. Thanks.
nikki605 0
Hi Nergal: Where is the x64 version of Speccy? I don't see it on the Speccy Downloads Page or under Builds. Is it built into the install routine? Bit confused here. Thanks. They are both in the installer and will be detected correctly by the installer. The shortcut on the Windows Start Menu correctly starts Speccy64.exe. This is what is in the Speccy program folder on my Win7 Pro SP1 x64 laptop: Win10 Pro x64 Desktop (Speccy) - Win10 Pro x64 Laptop (Speccy)
Compumind 0
@nikki605 - Hmm. I'm still 32 bit on this system so the Speccy folder does not contain the x64/.exe Guess that was done to prevent bloat. Cheers!

Cheers! Yes, it's the same on my 32-bit WinXP system - no Speccy64.exe file was installed in the program folder. Moderators Nergal 0 Posted July 22, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 22, 2011 well as portable doesn't install, no it would make no difference Are you running it as UAC elevated? Please answer as to what exactly "crash" means per my questions above Win32 Users please stop chiming in about how you don't have a 64bit, it is detracting from Traveller's question.
