For some reason, Adobe Acrobat DC creates some registry data for the previous Acrobat programs like it is showing in the attached snapshot. Then, CCleaner shows Acrobat programs that are not even installed on the system. So I think we should change the Detects to fix this issue.

Changed Detect from HKLM\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC to HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC

The entry listed below should be removed as there is no Distiller in the latest Adobe Acrobat DC. Look like someone just copied it from the previous Distiller entry.

The entry listed below belongs to Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and it shows up on all Adobe Photoshop Elements. There is not another routine entry for Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. So I think this entry should be removed.

Hello guys,

I just looked through my registry to delete old entrys and then I came across

some weird folders with game names in it I surely never had installed on my pc (besides the one i wanted to delete):

is this sth that is deleteable or will the system feel it?

besides I have no idea what that folders are.

Almost certainly graphics card settings (ie custom graphics settings for those games). Gfx cards will normally have settings for a number of games, whether installed or not. I'd leave them alone - best case scenario, graphics card software will just reinstall them. Worst case, graphics drivers may start complaining and playing up.

Updated: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/3471e76ecb481c568d35c1e8cb0b498b982919fb

https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/6b5107f3a21771444e062ea856b1c5140fe2fd4d

Sometime in the future, I will be changing the version number scheme to just match up whenever the last modified date is, instead of including the CCleaner version number, as I don't really see much reason to do that anyways.

The new version scheme will be day/month/year format, instead of the current CCleaner version/year/day/month. Should make the version scheme a little better to understand to some people (and honestly, who still reads dates as year/day/month, lol).

I also want to go through the file and do some cleanup, mostly under the hood, so no entries should be effected by it.

I am a maintainer for Winapp2. I also have a open-source group on Steam.

Maybe we can do a vote? It is just weird to read a date In that format. Honestly, when I first became a maintainer, I didn't even notice it was it was suppose to be a date, I thought it was more like the number of corrections Winapp2 has done over the years. That's just me though.

No one's been overly bothered by it before, I wouldn't worry about it ;)

Incorrect assumprion.

Dates and version number are needed to keep track of changes made to a file to determine if it could be accidentally filled with errors or that changes have been made .

To be honest, I never felt a need to download a new INI file since I always look within the file 1st to see if the version/date changed

I didn't know anyone did. Surely year-month-day is the only one that makes sense as it keeps files in numerical/sequential order

Agreed.  Day month year doesn't list nicely alphabetically

01012016

01022017

01102016

01152017

01172016

versus

20160101

20160110

20160117

20170102

20170115

as an example. I think the date format is fairly non ambiguous and makes it easier to read the version number programmatically

I agree with winapp2 year first looks more appropriate as a version number

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

I can't really remember how I use to keep track of the winapp2.ini back in the day, but I think I did use the date. The year first does work better, that way you can look at the last few numbers and see if it has changed or not.

I think we should change the name of [Error Reporting More*] to [Windows Error Reporting*].

Added RegKey4, RegKey5 and RegKey6.

[Windows Error Reporting*]

previous name for this entry were using "Windows" but based on suggestion, the "Windows" were removed so that the result page will show [Windows - Error Reporting More*] instead of [Windows - Windows Error Reporting More*]

and usually entries that complement default cc's cleaning rule will have "more" so i think we don't need to change the name
