Do you do any checking of entries? Seems they are posted and immediately added. At least with the former monthly updates it gave users a chance to check entries posted here and give a yay or nay, and pick up on dangerous entries, whereas now they're instantly added, which seems to me like a slowly brewing recipe for disaster

If the software is a branch of another entry, I compare it with that entry and make sure the file paths/detects are correct. If I know the software, I will test it directly.

I wanted to use GitHub as more a development branch type thing, so it would be consider beta/unstable and let Robert continue to update Winapp2 on his website, which would be considered the stable builds of Winapp2, but I have not heard from Robert in quite sometime. I assume he is busy with real life and doesn't have much time to come here.

Maybe I will wait 24 hours or so before adding a entry?

I would say at least a 24 hour wait would be a sensible idea, and would save you going through adding AND deleting when a duff entry is posted

I actually don't mind. It gives me something to do on my free time, haha. But I understand what you mean and I will slow down so people can say "Hey that's not right!".

Hiya! Not dead, just soul-crushingly busy with work. Am taking 5 upper division math courses this semester- the lowest division of which is Calculus 3

Winapp2.ini: "# of entries" should be 2,571.
Non-CCleaner / Winapp2.ini: "# of entries:" should be 2,571 + 51.

The fixed for OpenOffice was tested on mine and Andrew's system, and it worked on both.

By the way, do you use some kind of tool that counts the number of entries or do you count them yourself?

The entry listed below should be removed. Windows Update downloads update files into that location and waits to install them. If you remove the files from that location before updating Windows, then Windows Update has to re-download the files. Unnecessary files from this location automatically remove after a successful update and some left overs can be removed using the Windows "Disk Cleanup" utility.

Today, I had approx. 4.5 GB files in that directory before installing Windows updates. After the update, it has only 54.5 MB.

I use the search function of Notepad++ with a regular expression:

- Find/count entries: ^\[[^\*]*\*\]

- Find entries without asterisk: ^\[[^\*]*\]

But you can also use "trim.bat" to count the entries.

How about just adding a warning on it?

This entry is not safe. It breaks Windows Update. I was watching the behavior of this entry for the last one month. Windows Update downloads update files into that location and waits to install them. If you remove the files from that location before updating Windows, the Windows Update fails.
