Moderators Andavari Posted June 19, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2013 I strongly recommend that the entry Windows SCM Logs* be removed from WinApp2.ini because it causes the Event ID 114 failure in the system Task Scheduler as described above. Good find, and all because of logs. Hopefully Piriform also looks at your post and makes certain no future version of CCleaner ever touches them "out-of-the-box". Moderators Nergal Posted June 19, 2013 Moderators Share Posted June 19, 2013 thanks for the catch @siliconman01 ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Winapp2.ini
Thanks! These are the things that always get me - entries i run and test but have effects on other things I don't make use of (so I don't run into the problem!) I'll remove it in the next iteration. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github

Winapp2.ini
I suppose we could make one big entry that cleared all of the paths, but it would require the hard coding of the paths (2,3,3.7, and any future paths) as regkeys don't support wildcards. winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github

Alan_B
Is it just me that's getting screwy formatting in the winapp2 update, it's all just one continuous line when opening with notepad That is the reward for using Windows to look at a Unix style file which concludes each line with "0x0A" instead of "0x0d,0x0A" You can either use MetaPad instead of Notepad, or rename the file as WinApp2.txt and then launch CMD.EXE and select the relevant folder and run the command MORE WinApp2.txt > WinApp2.ini
