kobrakommander56
your firewall might not trust the application and block all its ports... something like that Insert random C4 joke here.
kobrakommander56
try turning off your firewall, and test it... or just switch to winamp Insert random C4 joke here.
Glenn
If you're using WMP 10, the master setting is: Tools > Options > Player > Player settings > Connect to the Internet (overrides other commands)
oli
that master command is already checked. i dont have a software firewall installed only the netgear dg834gt firewall and i dont know how to allow a program in this. Moderators rridgely Posted November 10, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 10, 2005 Are you just trying to get it to find the names of songs? Its not your router(routers only block in coming trafic not outbournd).

Glenn
This is a longshot but ... is it possible that you have cleared all Online Stores or their url's? View > Online Stores I think at least one has to be defined.

oli
internet component of wmp10?? i tried reinstalling but that did work Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Thats just the way i am
Moderators rridgely Posted November 11, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 11, 2005 Go to tools>Options. Under the privacy tab make sure everything is checked.(in the top section only.) Then go to the network tab and make sure all of the connection types are checked(http, UDP, ect.) Under performance make sure you have detect speed automatically checked. Let me know if any of that fixes it.
oli
yep network and performance are all ckecked right but i can only check two of the 4 options in privacy http://img380.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wmp10isgay3yj.png Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Glenn
internet component of wmp10?? Any application that can use the internet (e.g., to update) must contain scripts and addresses. This could be code right in the app, a simple additional executable, or a complete separate application. WMP obviously uses IE as an interface but I have some updaters that don't. i tried reinstalling but that did work Did work?
oli
didnt work sry Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Thats just the way i am
Moderators rridgely Posted November 11, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 11, 2005 Try going to tools options. Then look under the library tab. Make sure the box that says retrieve additional information from the net is checked. I will try to find some info if that dosent work.
Moderators Andavari Posted November 12, 2005 Moderators Share Posted November 12, 2005 Well there are some security softwares that can disable WMP from being able to use the Internet at all by disabling it's features. You don't by any chance have any such software installed that's blocking it do you?
