Tom AZ
I have about 260MB of Hotfix Uninstallers. Is there any good reason to keep them after 2-3 weeks of an update and everything seems to be running smoothly?
fragghead
I almost deleted 531MB of uninstallers this morning. I'm glad I didn't because of an odd Microsoft Update I received today, I had to uninstall an October 2010 update to fix my computer.
Moderators Nergal Posted January 3, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2011 XP: Yes it's okay to clean them once you no longer feel the need to uninstall the hotfixes (I usually waited 1 week to 1 month) Vista/Seven: no and thus they do not show cleanable in ccleaner ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. fragghead
Is the only gain you get by deleting these hotfix uninstallers is freeing up some hard drive space? Is there any performance improvement?
