I've heard of it Hav0c, and I use the Malware Domains HOSTS file. It's also included as the Malware Protection subscription in adblocking software such as Adblock for Chrome, and Adblock Plus for Firefox. Worth getting for the added protection.

I've used the MVPS hosts file for many years without issue.  Lately however, I've notice more & more mainstream websites won't work with the hosts file in place.  I have to use HostsXpert to quickly switch between the MVPS file & the default MS file.  It appears to be because the websites are inserting ads which MVPS blocks, stopping the website from going any further.  Two examples:

macys.com - my wife can't read customer reviews with the MVPS file in place.

NBC Sports Live Extra - streaming sports videos won't play with the MVPS file in place.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Instead of switching of the entire MVPS, use hostserver, or other redirect watcher, to see what entry is blocking the page and whitelist it in HostsXpert
