Icedrake
Notice how the program in the screenshot for AVG's new system tune-up utility, looks EXACTLY like Auslogics Boostspeed: http://store.v3.co.uk/p13899-avg_pc_tuneup_2011_1-pc. Don't they have anything better to do other than copy a perfectly good program and run it off as their own? Also, compare the descriptions of both programs: AVG: http://www.avg.com/ww-en/avg-pctuneup#tba1 Auslogics: http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/boost-speed/ Notice how alike they both look? Here's a quick screenshot comparison: AVG: Auslogics:
Moderators DennisD Posted October 11, 2010 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2010 Either the same person designed and wrote both programs, or there's a wee bit of skulduggery afoot there.
Aethec
Maybe someone should tell Auslogics? I mean, I don't see why they would agree on this... Piriform French translator
tomcatonnet99
Its frustrating when you wish to scan just the one file from the right click context menu .... it scans the entire system environment!
Chris Wiles
Maybe someone should tell Auslogics? I mean, I don't see why they would agree on this... It's a re-branded Auslogics product Chris.
Chris Wiles
Don't they have anything better to do other than copy a perfectly good program and run it off as their own? The reason why AVG licensed this product from Auslogics was due to Kaspersky regularly bundling TuneUp Utilities with their Internet Security, in UK retail. In the UK, you'll get AVG PC Tuneup 2011 for *free* when you purchase AVG Internet Security 2011. I think this is a UK-only promo though. We'll have it online in the V3.co.uk Software Store by the end of this week, all being well (read: providing AVG delivers!). Chris.
Ishi
I didn't even know that AVG had a tuneup program. Its a copy of the user interface, but I wouldn't say its a "copy" unless I have tried both programs and have compared any similarities or differences, something I won't probably do seriously since I am happy with the tweaking programs I already have. I love computer maintenance tasks. Some of my favorite programs: Wordpad -basic word processing Notepad - temporary clipboard and basic scripting module Windows Media Player 12- video, music and online radio player Windows Media Center - live TV, local FM radio CCleaner- handy computer maintenance tool If something fails to work after using the registry cleaner, use SYSTEM RESTORE.
