Willy2
CC v2.32 is a bit sloppy when it registers itself in the registry of Windows XP. There's a Piriform entry in both the HKCU and HKU hives, HKCU\Software\Piriform\ HKU\S-.........\Software\Piriform\ each with one or more subkeys. e.g. ""Ccleaner"", ""Defraggler"" and ""Recuva"". In these subkeys settings from these programs are stored when the user doesn't want to store settings in an *.INI file. But in the hive HKLM CC registers itself under a separate key (HKLM\Software\Ccleaner) instead of registering in a subkey of the entry called HKLM\Software\Piriform where e.g. Defraggler and Recuva register themselves as well. One registerkey (in bold letters, above) contains also an obsolete value that's never touched/changed. Aethec
HKU is HKEY_USERS. HKCU is HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but it is in fact a subkey of HKU. Piriform French translator
