cleaning 7-ZIP Recent History

Recommended Posts

Hi, found out that CCleaner does not clean up Recently-Used Historys for 7-Zip on Windows7

the reg-values are: (just need to set blank hex-values and the history is reset)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7-Zip\Compression]

"ArcHistory"=hex:

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-USER-ID-USER-ID-USER-ID-1001\Software\7-Zip\Compression]

"ArcHistory"=hex:

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-USER-ID-USER-ID-USER-ID-1001\Software\7-Zip\Extraction]

"PathHistory"=hex:

maybe you can implement it in a later version ;)

This is what is currently cleaned for 7-zip in ccleaner

[7-Zip]
ID=2090
LangSecRef=3024
Default=True
Detect=HKCU\SOFTWARE\7-ZIP\
RegKey1=HKCU\SOFTWARE\7-ZIP\Compression\ArcHistory
RegKey2=HKCU\SOFTWARE\7-ZIP\Extraction\PathHistory
RegKey3=HKCU\Software\7-Zip\FM|CopyHistory
RegKey4=HKCU\Software\7-Zip\FM|FolderHistory
RegKey5=HKCU\Software\7-Zip\FM|PanelPath0

This includes the location you pointed out. the second two locations are per user (as with everything in ccleaner it only cleans out the current user so each of the two people you've listed would have to run ccleaner individually)

Are you running CCleaner with UAC privilages? if not this is why it is not cleaning the reg entries

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
