Forum Upgrade

Hey, nice! :D

This new forum is really cool. The only thing I would remove is that sidebar thing (from the front page).

Once you remove that, everything will look just like before (IMO).

Ok it's kinda weird , I agree too chunky :(

And whats with the "positives" quota set to 0?

"Action failed: You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day"

Old BBCode did not carry over correctly in at least some topics

e.g. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=27707&st=0&p=166405&fromsearch=1entry166405

you'll notice it says QUOTE where there was a quote tag.

I cleaned a few on my posts but to do so on all ~619 would be too much work

this is esp noticable in WIN*2.ini entries as they were wrapped in code tags (samething happened to emoticons too)

Not so much a fan of current theme but I'm sure I'll get used to it (and it is Piriform colors)

Not sure where it's being seen that privacy settings have gone out, I'm pretty sure they are the same

The lack of colour alternation between sections and topics it's too light and looks rather white.

Apart from that I haven't noticed any real problems yet.

Was the forum upgrade necessary?? it seems to have changed everything around including user profiles.

If the quota of votes per day is set to 0, why not simply disable the voting system ? I don't see any use for it (important things are pinned anyway)

Because Upgrades save people from Secuirty Flaws. Because for pay Forums-scripts often make you get a latest version when you get the new license. Because a board should never go stagnant

and finally because of this http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/302922-ipboard-236-and-related-applications-end-of-life-announcement/

I noticed some old links are broken too (I guess its related to the bbcode issue). Some that have been shortened and have "......" in the middle of them try to open the link with that as part of the address.

eg the link in the first post in this thread: http://forum.pirifor...showtopic=27652

What another thing I hate if you click on a link it opens in the same window not a new one. I know you you can right-click and open in a new windows or new tab but you shouldn't have too.

+1

Here's A forum thread re same bbcode issue http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/297981-old-bbcodes-in-html-update-236-304/

but they didn't get very far and were told to go to peer-to-peer

Here's another (from ipb 3 beta) but coder says it was fixed before 3.0 release http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=14608

I couldn't investigate anyfurther as Peer-to-Peer is for customers only

I was 50/50 on the upgrade didn't like it nor dislike it. Now I'm not caring for it all that much, some things seem to have went backwards. Too bad we have to use IPB!

Kroozer most things such as your messenger and personal profile settings etc are where it says your name at top right of page. Just click on the drop down arrow there.
