Recuva distorts folder- and filenames with foreign characters

- I scan the drive

- I look at the filelist:

foldernames and filenames with 8 or less characters in length containing foreign characters get distorted:

for example:

_G?ST becomes _GST~1

H?LSA becomes HLSA~1

longer filnames like:

lasses p?ronpl?ttar.txt

shows correct

- I restore selected files

- I look at the restored files and folders in windows explorer

- The same problem as above with distorted names on restored files and folders

 

Must be a very simple error to fix since the program correctly handles longer filenames with foreign characters.
