CCleaner doesn't recognize OpenOffice.org

Hi everyone,

Hi Piriform CCleaner bug-busting team,

I would like to mention a possible bug in CCleaner.

I don't know if it's a known bug.

In CCleaner v2.29.1111, I notice that OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 build 9483 is not recognized as an application

and that there's no cleaning up as there was with earlier versions.

Well, at least this applies to Openoffice.org Writer, the 'Word'-like application in OpenOffice.org.

(OS is Windows Vista Ultimate SP2, 32-bit.)

If I'm not mistaken, CCleaner v2.28.1091 and earlier versions did clean up after OpenOffice.org.

I guess it's a bug in CCleaner v2.29.1111.

Or it could be that CCleaner is not recognizing the Februari 12 new OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 version.

Which would also be a flaw in CCleaner.

I hope this problem can be corrected in the next CCleaner version.

You are correct 3.2 is not listed

Can you Post if there is the following key in your registry?

HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpenOffice.org\OpenOffice.org\3.2

also is the file location and name still the same for openoffice histories (open Start menu and type %appdata% in the searchbox and press enter find the OpenOffice.org Folder

is the next folder "3" ?

is there still within that folder \user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office|Histories.xcu

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

Hi Nergal,

Yes, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OpenOffice.org\OpenOffice.org\3.2 is in the registry.

And yes, the folder \Users\[user]\appdata\Roaming\OpenOffice.org\3\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office exists and does contain the file Histories.xcu among others.

I suppose the fact that OpenOffice.org 2.3.0 isn't listed in CCleaner may be due to the fact that OOo 3.2.0 preceded CC v2.29.1111 only two weeks?

I suppose this will be fixed in the next CCleaner version?

Spiff while they add it to the next version add the following into your Winapp2.ini

[OpenOffice 3.1]
ID=2143
LangSecRef=3021
Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpenOffice.org\OpenOffice.org\3.2
Default=True
FileKey1=%appdata%\OpenOffice.org\3\user\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office|Histories.xcu

If you need help with a WinApp2.ini there is a Sticky Topic in the Ccleaner board

Thanks, we'll look into this.

Hey, please make sure you also check for the HKCU version of the registry key - for those of us who have OOo installed only for a single user. My Google Chrome showed back up in v2.30 but not my OpenOffice 3.2. Let me know if you want me to open a new bug report thread. Thanks!
