hydro
Aloha, I am using the free version of macrium reflect ..apparently the reflect service is a hidden service/process. I can see it using services.msc, but it does not appear in ccleaner startup tab. Can you please add functionality to ccleaner that will monitor this service (and any other hidden service)?? thank you. TERRIFIC PRODUCT BTW!!! Probably one of the most important applications I have ever used! I install it to all of my customers computers ...it is very helpful in troubleshooting a myriad of issues. Hi hydro, welcome to the forums There's nothing hidden about ReflectService.exe; the CCleaner Startup tab monitors start-up programs but not services. Moderators Andavari Posted February 4, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2010 It's called Macrium Reflect Image Mounting Service, and if it isn't showing up in the Services viewer perhaps try a reinstall of Macrium, then restart your computer. Still if it doesn't show up you can start, and stop it using this via Start->Run, Batch Files, or shortcuts: Stops the service: net stop "Macrium Reflect Image Mounting Service" Starts the service net start "Macrium Reflect Image Mounting Service"
Moderators DennisD Posted February 4, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2010 I've had that service disabled since I got Macrium, and I've made quite a few Image backups with it disabled, and I've Restored Images 4 times now with it disabled. You can also mount and unmount the Image as a drive with it disabled. The point of it escapes me, as in my use of Macrium Reflect Free, it's always been surplus to requirements. marmite
Still if it doesn't show up you can start, and stop it using this via Start->Run, Batch Files, or shortcuts: If it wasn't showing in the Services list I'd be very surprised if you could start or stop it; it's absence would suggest it's not registered. I didn't know though, that the net service commands respond to service display names . I've always used the service name before; e.g net stop ReflectService. Moderators DennisD Posted February 4, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2010 Hmmm that's interesting ... have to look into that one Makes you wonder about "services" doesn't it. This is "mounting an image" without the "Macrium Reflect Image Mounting Service". And I can copy files from that "drive" and run programs which don't write to disk, such as CCleaner, Auslogicis Defrag, and a host of others.
