I dont use AVG but looking at v6, 7 & 8 the registry keys and file paths follow the version number. So here is a best logical guess that you can try...

In WinApp

[AVG AntiVirus 9.0]ID=2141LangSecRef=3024Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg9Default=TrueFileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\avg9\Log|*.logFileKey2=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\avg9\scanlogs|*.logFileKey3=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\avg9\Log|*.xmlFileKey4=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\avg9\update\backup|*.*FileKey5=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\avg9\Emc\Log|*.log

I know I can edit the winapp1.ini file and replace 8 with 9 for the AVG entries but not sure if that is 100% correct.

And I don't know where to begin on the entry for VLC as well.

Any help appreciated....

Here is the entry for VLC so far....

[*VideoLAN VLC]

LangSecRef=3023

Detect=HKCR\Applications\vlc.exe

Default=True

FileKey1=%appdata%\vlc\art\title|*.*|RECURSE
