Don't wait.......give him a PM warning and...............

I myself use a-squared, Spyware Blaster, Spybot, Ad-Aware and a small app from Vietnam Solutions called

"VnS14H" which works silently in the background. I have used it for 4-5 months and appears to work very well and contains no spyware or adware and is free.

Also use CCleaner of course!

AVG Free and ZA Pro (paid)

Hi I have 'googled' "VnS14H" but cannot find any relation to the prog! Any links about it?

Try this link. I got it from the program itself. It works very well for IE and other browsers that employ the IE engine...such as Maxthon etc.

Thanks for the links to 'vnsi4h' - the reason we couldn't find it is the "i" in the name was listed as a "1" in the original post. And of such errors is confusion made. :))

Thanks, acooldozen, much appreciated.

will test out this program.

Download these Inu-Ya

Spyware blaster

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Ewido

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

MS Antispy

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s...re/default.mspx

Those three are way better than the ones you have. Spyware blaster will keep you from getting infected and MSAS has a good real time scanner.

Ewido has a better on demand scanner than any antispyware program and most AV's combined.

Oh yeah, ditch that cruddy free av and get this:

http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/

Sometimes I feel like I'm preaching this but I honestely think this AV is the best one I have ever used.

Don't tell me what to use and what not to use. I hate paying for crap that runs slow and waste Memory usage. AV and the others are fine with me.

I'm considering ditching McAfee for it and seeing how well I can customize it. All those services annoy me though. >.>

I don't really run a real time AV, I just scan when I feel I need to. (Next to never)

Chill that link is to a one year free trial.

Etrust uses way less memory than any other AV and is a very small download.

Now say thank you. :)

It's ok. Thx for the offer though. I believe my mom is trying out Etrust. and yes! That program does use way less memory. She users only 140MB in all on her system. She has 1GB with on board Graphics and system detects 992MB of RAM. I use 208MB. my system is fine the way it is. but thx though.

I use a-squared it's an anti-trojan prog but it's also able to find Worms,Spyware and Adware (but not Viruses).

You can download the Free or the Personal Edition of a-squared.

(The Personal Edition contains a Guard and an autoupdater)

Here you find a-squared and here iyou find informations about the special Guard

I used to use that when I fixed windows 98. That was only because Ewido dosent work on those.

I don't trust it anymore because it had issues giving false postitives. It also isn't that good at finding real viruses.

If your on xp get ewido instead.

You can manually download updates from them by visiting http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/. Note: Since they update it so often you'll probably be updating almost everyday.

It will be a good addition to your security Predator to have Ewido. The prog. is so well run and trouble free, ( for me anyway )

As Anavari says you can apply the updates manually until your problem is sorted.

Should Superantispyware be trusted? I've heard and read rumors and they'e not good ones...

Its listed as recommended by spyware warrior.

http://spywarewarrior.com/sww-help.htm

I've had good results with it removing things that no other program would remove. Especially the new vundo infection that is hiding itself in hijack this logs.(it hides O2 and O20 hjt lines) As far as I know its the only thing besides vundofix that will clean that up. Also it will remove some of the winfixer, spyaxe, smitfraud, infections.(not all yet but its better then most)

I also like that the author goes to a lot of security forum and will address any questions/concerns. He seems like a very nice guy.
