Moderators Andavari Posted August 31, 2005 Moderators Share Posted August 31, 2005 If you use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader there's a security advisory about a vulnerability in a plug-in when opening malicous PDF documents. You can read about it here and obtain an update: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/321644.html

Moderators rridgely Posted September 1, 2005 Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2005 you do realize that 7.0.3 released 1-2 months ago right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why does it matter that it was released a few months ago? The security hole is still there. My suggestion for everyone is to switch to foxit pdf reader.
Guest Mangix
does it come with IE/Firefox integration by any chance?
Moderators rridgely Posted September 1, 2005 Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2005 Yes, you just have to make it the default pdf reader.

Moderators Andavari Posted September 1, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2005 you do realize that 7.0.3 released 1-2 months ago right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't use it and don't really care what version they release. I just posted it for people who use Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to give them a heads up. And yes switching to Foxit Reader is a wise choice since it isn't bloated and loads fast. Guest Mangix
i use firefox and i dont see .pdf on the plugins list so i cant do anything about that and how would i do this for IE? edit:well looks like i cant do nothing about it. Adobe's integration comes from an ActiveX control which doesnt come with Foxit so oh well

Guest Mangix
lol i meant integration in the browser itself, not in another window to open Foxit PDF Reader. but that works too
Moderators Andavari Posted September 1, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2005 Ah that's what you meant. You'll just have to live with it opening Foxit Reader which isn't too bad considering you were able to get rid of its bloated competition with no real disadvantages to speak of.
