jimmy111
I put my saved ini file on a flash drive, reformated my hard drive, then put the saved ini file back in the ccleaner folder but I still had to log on to all my sites. What did I do wrong? Why do I have to log on to all my sites again?
Jamin4u
When you saved your ini file, you were saving the settings of CCleaner and not the actual cookies. Online Documentation...CCleaner
jimmy111
OK, but how do you save the list of cookies to keep?
Jamin4u
Saving the ini file does save the list of cookies to keep. You can view the ini file by opening it and scrolling down to cookies to save =. Here's a comprehensive article on how to export and import favorites and cookies in IE. I'm sure that Firefox and other browsers have similar methods. jimmy111
After I imported my cookies by using the export and import cookies feature in IE7 I still have to log in manually at each of my sites. Anyone know what could be causing this?
Moderators Andavari Posted July 16, 2009 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2009 Dunno so much about saving that stuff with IE, however with Firefox and Opera you untick in CCleaner for it to not remove their cookies, and then you have to manually maintain your cookies via the browsers themselves. Also saving the Firefox and Opera user profile should maintain the cookies as they're just single files unlike what IE does which has a Cookies folder and a Temporary Internet Files folder.
