Icedrake
We all know Windows doesn't allow use of 3rd party themes by default. We need to patch system files to be able to use them. Although there are many ways to patch system files like: Using ready-made patchers which patch the files automatically Manually replacing default system files with patched ones Using 3rd party software like Tuneup Utilities, Style XP, etc which use their own theming engines But all these methods require some expertise and sometimes users face problems while using these methods like system refuses to boot after patching the files, etc. Today we are going to share a new tool in market which allows you to use 3rd party themes in Windows without any problem or extra head-ache. "UxStyle" is a very small utility created by well-known "Rafael" @ Withinwindows. UxStyle is a light-weight system service named Unsigned Themes, complimentary to the Themes service, and a kernel driver, sizing in at ~500k and ~17kb respectfully (beta builds). The service handles the enabling/disabling of custom theme support and the kernel driver handles patching. For 64-bit platforms, the kernel driver is signed with a digital certificate, as required by Microsoft. Simply download and install the tool and get ready to enjoy 3rd party themes. It works in Windows XP, Vista and 7. Note that it doesn't have any UI. It'll run as a service in background and will allow you to use 3rd party themes.
