Suggestion for Frequent Updates

Hey Piriform!

First of all, CCleaner is by far one of my favorite programs that I use. I can't help but to recommend it to everyone I come across needing a slightly faster, cleaner system.

I have a suggestion for updates. Almost every time I run CCleaner, it tells me that there is yet another update. Great!

So why is it that you update CCleaner so frequently, yet you require us to visit your website and re-download the entire package to install over the current installation we already have?

Why not implement an auto-update feature, or some kind of built-in updater like most programs have? As often as you update CCleaner, this sure would be nice, so we can be sure to have the latest version, but not have to re-download the entire installer. It would save us 10 steps.

1. Update CCleaner? Yes. (takes you to download site)...

2. Click download from FileHippo.

3. Click download again.

4. Wait for it to either download, or click on the link to force the download.

5. (Firefox) Click Save.

6. Click Save again (if you choose which folder to save to).

7. Let it download, and then Run it.

8. Click Yes to the security warning.

9. Click OK for language.

10. Click Next for the install directory.

11. Select your install options, click Install.

12. Click Finish to complete the installation.

And FINALLY, you can rerun it and clean your computer or use whatever function you wanted while still having the latest update for it.

Wouldn't it be much better if it were a 2 step process?

1. Run CCleaner and click Yes to update.

2. Program updates, restarts, and then you're ready to use CCleaner.

Much less aggravating.

Once again, just a suggestion, but it would be such a nice feature to add, and it would save me minor headaches. ^^

Thanks,

~ doc
