I tried to update my XP Pro system with Avira Premium to Version 9 but it keeps insisting that it is up to date.

Did a little more checking . . . this is probably the answer.

That site is slower than molasses in January.

I guess because of the update.

AntiVir update from 2009-04-27 with IMAP support

Dear Avira customers,

in our latest Avira AntiVir Update from today (04/27/2009) are several improvements for the AntiVir Personal, Premium and Security Suite available.

The new product versions are:

Avira AntiVir Premium Security Suite: 9.0.0.367

Avira AntiVir Premium: 9.0.0.430

Avira AntiVir Personal: 9.0.0.394

As a new feature in the AntiVir Premium and Security Suite the scanning of IMAP Emailaccounts is now available. If you use IMAP for your Email account, you can activate this function as described below:

1. Start AntiVir, klick on Tools → Configuration

2. Activate the Expert Mode

3. Klick on ?Mailguard?

4. Activate the checkbox ?Scan IMAP accounts? and alter the port if needed

5. Save the changed settings with ?Apply? and ?OK?

To prevent confusion one of the two help links in the standard overview has been renamed to ?Online Help?.

Errors during the on demand scan has been fixed. In some cases the on demand scan crashed with an exception of the Avscan.exe or the on demand scan simply stopped scanning. The AntiVir Scheduler is not communicating to external sources anymore which was caused by a windows internal function. Further improvements have been made in the AntiVir Firewall, the AntiVir Guard, the updater and the Mailguard.
