NewHaunter
I think that when we do a "whole disk" defrag there is also an optimizing by good positioning of the files. What is used for that? I have set the "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate" to 1 in the registry. (Because the av-progam (Avira AntiVir) constantly sets that last accessed date and time to the now moment by the realtime guard). Now the last access date is the date when I disabled it. By new or modified files it = the modified date. Is the optimize thing uses this last access date? If so, what is the concequense disabling this last access-update? Is it good or bad? I find this last access date irrelevant because of the constantly changing it in many files to the now by the av-guard which is always controlling files randomly even if I do nothing on the pc.
