64bit registry issues

I know 64-bit compatibility is still being worked on, however, I've read on this forum that there's already partial compatibility.. what exactly does that mean? I can't use the registry cleaner at all with XP64 since it thinks nearly every System32 file is missing because it's looking in the wrong directory, SysWOW64 (which on my machine has very few files - only those needed to run 32-bit apps). Aren't 32-bit apps restricted to the Wow6432Node registry anyway? Or is it possible to have a 32-bit registry cleaner clean outside the 32-bit registry?

BTW, "Open in RegEdit" does nothing since it can't find it. However, it's in the default location, \Windows (regedt32, not regedit, is in \Windows\System32). I don't like having duplicates or complicating things with junctions/hardlinks, so is there a way to correct the path lookup somehow in CCleaner, like in a .ini file or something?

Edit: I just noticed it has no problem opening in RegEdit if regedit.exe is already running.

Thanks.
