System restore minimum space required

Hi

In my system (please see in my signature for details) the system restore disk space is 12% for each disk drive. For C 9800 MB, for D 8764 MB.

What would be the best minimum effective disk space I would need , if I`m not a heavy user?

Thanks

ELI

Hi Eli,

Down that road again ? :P

I find 2 GB or 2000 MB quite sufficient. I have increased it when doing a major update like from SP2 to SP3.

P.S. This is assuming that you are still using WinXP like I am.

Vista users are better off with the default. The better chance of recovering large data files which we can't do.

Hi Davey

Yes I`m still using XP.

Thank you for your reply. You mean 2 GB each disk partition right?

I am still single C drive with external USB on F. I turned F system restore off.

You can start there and monitor them. Other users may have some more info but I wouldn't go lower than that for now. :) davey

I have it set to just 500Mb on my C (main) partition and turned off on my E partition (see no need for it on there)

Thanks JD Power.
